Founded in 2016 and currently based in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Canti Dramatherapy offers both therapeutic and non-therapeutic interventions for adults and children across the South East and London on a sessional basis.
Canti was founded by Mike Clarke a fully-qualified and accredited Dramatherapist and a theatre practitioner.
The name 'Canti' has three loose meanings, all of which are relevant to the work that Canti Dramatherapy offers:
The Cantici were a celtic tribe based in Kent and Surrey in pre-Roman Britain, with their capital at modern-day Canterbury. The abbreviation 'Canti' is a nod towards the heritage of the region.
'Canti' is the plural form of the Latin word 'Cantus' meaning 'a song'. Voice is an important tool for expression and can be integrated into the work that Canti Dramatherapy offers.
The Bengali word 'Cánti' means 'Peace'. Canti Dramatherapy hopes to foster some kind of inner calm for its clients.
